So which of these high yield ETFs would you consider the "safest" in terms of relative stability and sustainable distributions?

I am also interested about this? Great Question!

YMAX is probably the most stable. Naturally it’s an all in one and carries more underlying assets than the others. So far YTD it’s price performance is -1.46% but it’s TR YTD is +14.68%. These funds are just so different and need a different set of requirements in how you handle them. Goals included. This could be a video in of itself. Personally I’ll be a casual observer of these funds, fun to cover, the story of these funds is fascinating, if you’re invested in these things I hope they treat you well.

Hey, new to your channel and new to investing. Great content! Will you be doing one for the brand new Defiance Daily Target Long?

Great to hear you are new to investing and the start of that journey brought you here. Definitely get a wide array of perspectives and surround yourself with the language of finance. Books, podcasts, videos, whatever it is. You will start to pick things up with time even when none of it makes sense.
As far as the video suggestion I can’t promise anything, I haven’t done my own deep dive into that fund just yet. The new launches of funds are plenty these days so choosing exactly which ones to cover is also dependent on how much overall interest the audience might have for it.

I am genuinely curious how you thin these funds would fit into a portfolio? Are they just bound to slowly decay and lose value or is there a way that you can use these for a longer term buy and hold strategy? Anyone who has these funds, can you let me know what you think of them? Thanks!

You need to constantly be reinvesting in these funds or there will be price decay. Not like other cc etfs that more easily allow for price growth while extracting all the distributions if you wanted to.

Bravo, if everyone took the time via trading view to make comparisons,of overall performance with these high yielding etf’s, the evidence is right there , they perform poorly, with exception of NVDY, (which Nvidia has historically performed better then any stock ever, in such short time span and option volatility is equal to TSLA)
But by taking NVDY, out of the mix…Qmax, qqcl, Uscl and even hyld have beaten overall performance.
The round hill etf are starting to look interesting as the option strategy look’s promising and the fact that they have weekly distribution , will probably aid in the compounding effect.
Myself I have invested in defiance IWMY, reason being Russell 2000 has been beaten past couple of years due to high interest rates, and the fact that defiance uses a PUT option strategy and seeing high implied volatility withe Russell I see more of an up side in price growth in the future.
P.s -Iwmy is in rrsp so not in rush to reap rewards

Well thought out analysis, thank you for sharing. That’s a great way to use that style of fund and creative,

Your comparison chart is a great idea. Total return comparison IS ESSENTIAL AND should also include a column to compare the performance of the underlying AND a comparison to MER fee charged. Finally you need to IDENTIFY the type of distribution. Is it capital gains? ROC? Other income? Apples to apples otherwise not very informative.

Come July.01 I’ll be releasing a tracker with total return and the performance data will be live. There is a tab in the tracker for taxes and the entire T3 breakdown. I do like the idea of comparing the all in ones vs their underlying. Solid suggestion. I will note that. Thanks!
